«CHAMPAGNE!..»
Eccentric comedy in 2 acts
based on the works of Anton Chekhov
(No minor under 16 years)

Eccentric comedy "champagne"! combines three famous vaudeville Chekhov : "The Bear", "The Jubilee" and "The Wedding."
Boris Granatov’ scenario includes excerpts from other stories, letters and notebooks of writer. In Chekhov's farces, as if in a mirror, reflects the stupidity and vulgarity, absurdity austere and claims, vanity and absurdity of life, which still have a place of love and laughter. Chekhov believed that human is capable of moral awakening and he is able to change.
... Once retired lieutenant of artillery Smirnov came inexpectedly with a strange visit to her neighbor, a pretty widow Popova with dimples in her cheeks ... what's afterwards? ("The Bear").
... Once a bank is going to celebrate its anniversary. But at the height of the holiday suddenly were two women and a very hinder: Tatiana, the wife of the chairman of the bank and old woman beggar. And what happened? ("The Jubilee").
... One day retired officer Zhigalov, began to give married his daughter Dashenka, and wanted him to play the magnificent wedding to be "like all other people." But ... ("The Wedding").
The stage director and the artists interpret absurd situations, not only in different times, from Chekhov to the present day, but in different colors, from black and white to multicolored and gaudy.
Chekhov’s theatricality, absurdity, caricature, grotesque are closely intertwined in the performance with witty stage director's findings, the phantasmagoria of characters, relationships, passions and conflicts ...
Duel and public speeches, wedding band, toasts, hugs and kisses, fights and reconciliation, a sea of flowers, songs and dances - all this, like splashes of sparkling, intoxicating drink, exciting, granting holiday! But ...
"Do not believe the champagne ... It sparkles like a diamond, transparent, like a forest stream, sweet as nectar, it is valued more than the labor of the worker, the song of the poet, the caress of a woman, but ... away from him!"Anton Chekhov.
